Rainbow Hunting

Rainbow Hunting

Today’s idea was inspired by my daughter and her love of rainbows.  She is obsessed.  She was pointing out colours of things and mentioning how satisfying it is when she can find rainbows in her environment and I thought, “I bet she is not the only child who finds satisfaction in such things.”  So, here is your challenge today, for those of you who love a rainbow or just colour in general.

Rainbow Hunting

You will need:

  • a digital camera or mobile device with a camera (this is optional and is only if you want to document the colours.)

Now head out into nature (you can also do this around your house if you are not able to get out) and take photos of things that are every colour of the rainbow — red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. For good measure, you may want a pink category as well.  How many of each colour can you find?  Which colours are easiest to find?  Which are the most challenging?  Were there any colours that you couldn’t find?

Now bring your photos home and put them in order on a document or print them off and paste them side by side to see the satisfaction that my daughter gets from rainbows.  Maybe you can create a collage rainbow of all the photos you took and hang it on your bedroom wall?

Share your rainbows with us!  We love a rainbow over here, after all.  You can email them to us or post your photos on our social media (Facebooktwitter and/or instagram)

Happy hunting!

April

  1. Terrific post but I was wanting to know if you could write a litte more on this subject? I’d be very thankful if you could elaborate a little bit more. Kudos!
